Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy
Sometimes, past experiences don’t stay in the past. They show up in how you feel, react, and move through the world. EMDR is a specialized therapy designed to help your brain process and heal from those experiences.
How it works:
EMDR uses guided bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping) to help your brain reprocess difficult memories. Rather than talking through the same story over and over, EMDR helps your brain “unstick” experiences that were never fully processed.
EMDR can help with:
-
Trauma and PTSD
-
Anxiety and panic
-
Disturbing or intrusive memories
-
Negative core beliefs (e.g., “I’m not safe,” “I’m not enough”)
-
Emotional triggers that feel hard to control
What it feels like in therapy:
EMDR is structured but paced carefully to ensure you feel safe and supported. You remain fully in control throughout the process. Many clients find that experiences that once felt overwhelming begin to feel more distant, less charged, and easier to live with.
You don’t have to stay stuck in the past. Your brain is capable of healing.
